777,171. Moulding rubber soles on shoes. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA SKOLASTFABRIKEN. April 13, 1955 [Dec. 20, 1954], No. 10628/55. Class 87(2). The rubber sole of a shoe is vulcanized on a last 4 between a heated plate 14, which is lowered to engage the shoe sole by a.hydraulic piston and cylinder assembly 5, and heated mould members 17 which are moved along guides 15 on the press table 2 by toggle links 18 operated by members 19 which are moved downwardly through springs 20 by the upper press table 13. The links 18 have a screw part 18a to allow their length to be adjusted. Members 24 engage pins 23 on the last, to ensure correct alignment of the members 16. Pins 21 on guide rods 12 connecting the assembly 5 and the table 13 engage in slots 22 in the members 19, the pins acting to positively withdraw the members 17 on the upward movement of the table 13. Collars 25 limit the downward movement of the members 19. In modifications, the members 17 may slide in guides on the table 13, and the table 13 may be stationary and the table 2 movable or both tables may be movable.
