The core of a two part footwear mould comprises a rear part 1, a wedge-shaped central part 2 and a front part 3, disposed so that longitudinal motion of at least one part with respect to the others alters the volume of the core, permitting a canvas " sock " or lining to be easily put on or removed from the core. T-shaped keys or projections on the central part 2 fit in complementary slots in the parts 1 and 3 and ensure accurate alignment of the parts with one another, and projections la, 2a, 3a, adapted to enter corresponding recesses in the mould parts, ensure the correct moulding position of the core.
