776,049. Supersensitized photographic emulsions. KODAK, Ltd. Aug. 17, 1955 [Aug. 23, 1954], No. 23657/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 98(2) A photographic silver halide emulsion is supersensitized with a combination of at least one dye of the formula:- wherein R and R 1 are alkyl or substituted alkyl groups, n is 0 or 1, X is an acid radical, Z and Z 1 complete heterocyclic nuclei and R 2 is an alkyl or aryl group or a 3-pyrryl, 3-indolyl, 2-indolyl or 1-pyrrocolyl group as defined in Specification 756,226 or a 6 : 7 - benz - 3 - indolyl group, and at least one dye of the formula:- wherein R, and R 8 are alkyl or allyl groups R, is Br, CH 3 CO- or C,H,NHCO- and X 1 is an acid radical. In the examples, R and R 1 are methyl or ethyl, R 2 is methyl, ethyl, phenyl, 2 : 5 - dimethyl - 1 - phenyl - 3 - pyrryl or 2 : 5 - dimethyl - 1 - ethyl - 3 - pyrryl, R, and R 8 are ethyl and Z or Z 1 complete 2 - quinoline, benzthiazole or naphthothiazole nuclei.
