775,416. Batteries. BAUER, R. E. Sept. 30, 1955 [Oct. 8, 1954], No. 27831/55. Class 53. In a dry battery, which may be of the inert type, the individual cells 1 are a frictional fit within containers 3 formed in a block 2 of elastic insulating material, e.g. P.V.C. Each cell, which may be open at the top, is pushed through the open bottom of its container until the electrode 6 passes also with a frictional fit through a hole 5 in a disc 4. The battery is fitted within a case 18 having a lid 17 with integral teats 19 which close the activation holes 7 for each cell. The cells are interconnected by wires passing through passages 10 in the block and the block may be stretched on a jig to facilitate insertion of the cells.
