Abstract

774,445. Smallarms. BREVETS AEROMECANIQUES SOC. ANON. May 16, 1955 [May 26, 1954], No. 14081/55. Class 119. In order to avoid injury to the trigger finger during recoil on firing grenades from a rifle fitted with a grenade launcher, the trigger 2, Fig. 3, is not pulled in the normal manner but is operated by a lever 4 pivoted at 5 to the trigger guard 3 and extending along the left side thereof, the lever 4 having a cam 9, Fig. 3, or arm 10, Fig. 7, rigid therewith for engaging the trigger and moving it rearwardly for firing. The arrangement is such the lever 4 can be moved transversely by the tips of the fingers, the hand being curved under the trigger guard with the ball of the thumb applied against the right side of the rifle as shown in Fig. 4. The lever 4 is urged away from the trigger 2 by a spring 6 and is pivoted at 5 in a boss on one of two side plates 7 removably secured to the trigger guard by cross screws. Alternatively the lever 4 may be permanently fixed to the trigger guard 3.
