Abstract
773,128. Wrapping-machines. WETZEL, E. Sept. 29, 1955, No. 27766/55. Class 94 (1). In a machine in which tablets 13 are enclosed in succession between webs 1 and 2 by pocketed sealing rollers 3, 4, the release of the tablets from feed shoots 7 is controlled by retaining fingers 14, 15 which project through slots in the sides of the shoots and are carried by camoperated levers 8, 9. The fingers are operated alternately in synchronism with the rotation of the rollers, the fingers 14 being moved into the shoots to hold up the columns of tablets while the fingers 15 are withdrawn to allow the lowermost tablet in each shoot to fall into the nip of the rollers, and the fingers 15 being moved inwardly to close the exits from the shoots while the fingers 14 are withdrawn to allow the columns of tablets to descend. The spacing between the fingers may be increased so that groups of two or more tablets are released at each operation.
