A casing tube clamp for large boreholes consists of a welded steel plate housing in two parts 1 comprising an annular inwardly open cavity which receives a lining, in the form of interchangeable segments 3 of wood, plastic material or the like, held in position by bolts 4. The two parts are pressed together by means of a pair of pressure medium actuated reciprocating pistons 8 or rotary pistons. Releasable spring loaded catches 12 are provided between the two parts 1.
