Abstract

The invention comprises lysidine gentisate and its preparation by reacting gentisic acid with lysidine in a solvent. Specified solvents are aliphatic alcohols and benzene hydrocarbons; or the reaction may be carried in an aqueous medium, the water being subsequently evaporated off. In an example the reaction is carried out at 70 DEG C. in ethyl alcohol, from which the product crystallizes.
