Class 107 A road sweeping vehicle having an endless brush conveyer 3 sweeping in the direction of movement, a container 1a for the sweepings and a scoop 5 resting on the ground being swept, has a slide plate 7 in the scoop this being adjustable to vary the distance of its lower edge from the ground. The profile of the bottom of the sliding plate may be shaped to suit the type of dust being dealt with, and is exchangable to this end.
