769,102. Electrolytic production of perchlorates. PENNSYLVANIA SALT MANUFACTURING CO. June 28, 1954 [July 13, 1953], No. 18911/54. Class 41. Perchlorates of alkali metals or alkaline earth metals are produced by electrolysis of an aqueous solution of the corresponding chlorate, preferably in saturation amount, to which perchloric acid is added to maintain a pH not exceeding 7. Typically for the production of sodium perchlorate, there is additionally included in the solution small amounts of sodium dichromate and one or more compatible soluble salts, e.g. chlorides, of calcium or magnesium.
