In a keyboard musical instrument each key is associated with a plurality of sound-producing or sound-defining means of slightly differing pitches; electrical relay means are provided for automatically selecting the sounds which are nearest to the true intonation for the particular passage being played, a selected sound remaining selected until a chord is played which is inconsistent with it. The operation of a relay corresponding to a particular sound opens the circuits of relays corresponding to other sounds which do not harmonize with the first sound.
