Abstract

Polyethylene having a molecular weight of from 18,000 to 46,000 is obtained by exposing ethylene to the action of g -rays. The reaction is preferably effected using g -rays of energy up to 4 m.e.v. at a temperature of from 0 DEG to 150 DEG C. and a pressure of from 5 to 200 atmospheres.ALSO:Polyethylene having a molecular weight of from 18,000 to 46,000 is obtained by exposing ethylene to the action of g -rays. The reaction is preferably effected using g -rays of energy up to 4 m.e.v. at a temperature of from 0 to 150 DEG C. and a pressure of from 5 to 200 atmospheres.
