768,632. Disc mills. DITTING, A. April 26, 1955 [April 28, 1954], No. 12076/55. Class 59 In a disc grinder for coffee, spice and the like comprising stationary and rotatable grinding discs 1, 2 mounted in holders 1a, 2a. respectively, the holder 2a is provided at its periphery with blades 5 which are adapted to scrape ground material from the interior of the wall 6 of the grinder housing 6a and force it through an opening 6b in the wall 6 into a tube 7 vibratably mounted on the exterior of the housing wall and adapted to hold a bag 10 or the like for the ground material, the opening 6b being formed at an acute angle b, Fig. 3, to a tangent T to the inner surface of the wall 6 and leading substantially tangentially into the interior of the tube 7 in such a way that when the ground material is forced in to the tube, a swirling motion is imparted to the material and the tube functions like a cyclone separator. Each blade 5 is disposed at an acute angle a to the tangent T. The tube 7 is attached to the grinder housing and to an extension 9 of the latter by means of rubber pads 8, 8a so that it is vibratable with respect to the grinder housing. The tube 7 may be vibrated by means of a cam 2b provided on the hub 4 of the disc holder 2a and acting against one end of a pin 15 the other end of which bears against the tube 7 through a rubber member 16. The bag 10 is held in position on the tube 7 by means of a spring-influenced lever 12 which may be used as a hammer to impart additional vibrations to the tube 7. The disc holder 2a is provided with impeller blades 2c.
