Abstract

768,408. Cigarette paper. AMERICAN TOBACCO CO. April 4, 1955 [June 8, 1954], No. 9716/55. Class 96. To prevent fly ash, cigarette paper is made to contain ¢ to 2 per cent of sodium chloride, as by adding it to the pulp, or to the paper, e.g. midway of the drying section, as by a bath or a pair of rolls, one of which is felt-covered. A fireretardant, e.g. 0.1 to 1.0 per cent of carboxymethyl- or carboxymethyl-hydroxyethyl-cellulose, or hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose ether, gum arabic, tragacanth, or locust bean, or sodium alginate may likewise be included.
