In a goggle valve controlling the flow of fluid through large diameter conduits, comprising longitudinally spaced pipes 12, 13 between which are disposed a pressure-ring 21, an annular expansion bellows 23 and a goggle plate 26 transversely movable between seats 25, 24 on the pipe 13 and the ring 21, a plurality of tie-bars 14, three shown, are fixed to radial arms 20, 17 on the pipes and slidable in boxes 29B secured to radial arms 22 on the ring. Springs 29 abutting boxes 29A adjustably mounted on the bars 14 urge the boxes 29B and the ring 21 rightwardly to clamp the plate 26 between the seats. To unclamp the seats from the plate, hydraulic rams 30 connected by yokes 31, Fig. 3, to the boxes 29B move the ring leftwardly. - Specification 728,890 is referred to in the Provisional Specification.
