767,154. Price tickets. KIMBALL CO., A. Aug. 24, 1954, No. 24649/54. Class 73. [Also in Group XIX] Relates to price tickets with punched coding characters for controlling the sensing equipment in punching machines for punching tabulating cards. Each ticket comprises two rectangular sections 15, 16, Fig. 1, detachably joined along an incised line 18, both sections having identical punched coding characters 31<SP>1</SP>-35<SP>1</SP> and corresponding printed legends 31-35 located in corresponding positions. The tag or customer's section 16 has a string 25 for attaching the ticket to an article and when the article is sold the control section 15 is separated from the tag section and sent to the accounting department. Fig. 1 shows a strip of tickets 10, 11, 12 connected by lands 20, 21 and provided with feed slots 23, 24, the ticket 10 having the legends marked on it and coding characters punched in it. Recesses 29 which are left when the lands 20, 21 are punched out for separation of the tickets, ensure that the central sections 15 are placed face up in the card stack holder of the sensing equipment, the recesses 29 being unsymmetrically located with respect to the upper and lower edges of the central section. At the bottom of the ticket the price is indicated by the row of legends 35 and by coding characters 351, sufficient space being provided above to remark the price if it is changed. Openings 51, 52, 53 disposed in triangular pattern are provided to position accurately successive tickets with respect to the code punching apparatus of the marking machine and subsequently with respect to the sensing equipment. Fig. 3 shows the code used in the tickets.
