Abstract
767,082. Directing articles. SARGROVE ELECTRONICS, Ltd., GREGORY, J. W. J., and SARGROVE, J. A. April 15, 1954 [Jan. 15, 1953; April 14, 1953], Nos. 1211/53 and 10169/53. Class 78 (1). An apparatus for directing articles comprises director means 12 which directs articles falling down shoot 11 either into shoot 50 or into shoot 51, and obturators 15, 17 which are linked to the director means in such a way that the latter directs the articles alternately down the respective shoots 50, 51. As shown, a dough lump sliding down shoot 11 slides over director 12 and falls into shoot 51, passing and deflecting obturator 15, which latter being coupled by links 18, 20, 19 to director 12, raises said director 12. The next lump then slides into shoot 50, passing and deflecting obturator 17 so that the system is returned to its original position shown and is held there by counterweight 21. Additionally pivoted latching arms 25, 29 are provided which respectively engage the stop 24 carried by stop arm 23 turning with the director 12 so that the system is locked in its end positions and " bounce " is avoided. Alternatively the moving system may be retarded towards the limits of its swings by a post-motion friction disc system. Specification 767,081, [Group XXXV], is referred to.
