766,235. Printing surfaces. WARREN, CO., S. D. March 22, 1955 [July 1 1954], No. 8271/55. Class 100(2) A process for improving the printing properties of planographic printing plates comprises brushing the surface of the plate with a natural bristle brush and thereafter brushing the surface with a brush formed of nylon filaments based upon the structural unit O # - NH - CH 2 - CH 2 - CH 2 - CH 2 - CH 2 - C - Preferably the bristles of the natural bristle brush are hog bristles and the surface of the plate, which consists principally of a pigment and a hydrophilic adhesive, is brushed with the natural bristle brush with sufficient pressure to generate dust, the dust being removed by the subsequent brushing with the nylon brush. The nylon of the filaments may be based upon caprolactam or 6-amino caproic acid. Specification 633,746 is referred to.
