A double wall for a motor vehicle comprises inner and outer spherically curved sheets 6, 7 spaced apart by depressions 3 formed in the inner or both sheets and united by spot welding in such depressions. Where the outer wall is of plastic cup-like insertions 15 may be passed through holes in the sheet 11 and welded to depressions 12 formed in the metal inner sheet 14.
