Abstract

656,223. Vehicle bodies. BRIGGS MANUFACTURING CO: Dec. 23, 1948, No. 33203. [Classes 103(ii) and 108(i)] In a vehicle body the door header and front pillar construction comprise a continuous member 17, 170 forming two sides of a box section and a drip moulding 19 having an inward extension 18 forming the other two sides. In the front pillar structure, Fig. 2, the flange 17b of the member 17 is spot welded to the extension 18 and to the flange 13b of the roof panel extension 13 and the flange 18b is spot welded to the member 17 and to a reinforcing member 14. In the door header structure, Fig. 4, the flange 170c is spot welded to the extension 18 and to the flange 130a of the roof panel 130 and the flange 18d is spot welded to the member 170.
