763,469. Heat transfer. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP DE BATAAFSCHE PETROLEUM MAATSCHAPPIJ. Jan. 26, 1954 [Jan. 26, 1953], No. 2358/54. Drawings to Specification. Class 1(1) [Also in Group XIII] In a fluidized bed which is used for heat transfer between the walls of a reaction vessel and the solid particles at least part of the fluidizing gas is injected as a liquid which vaporizes at the point of entry into the heat transfer bed. passes through the suspended solids, cooling said solids; and is discharged above the fluidized bed. Preferably the vapour pressure of the liquid at the lowest wall temperature exceeds the pressure which may be superatmospheric prevailing at the point of liquid admission by at least-20 per cent. The rate of liquid admission which controls the temperature of the bed and consequentlv the reaction temperature may be controlled by the fluctuations in temperature in the reaction vessel. Reference, has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 587.774.
