In inductive geophysical exploration wherein an A.C. signal is transmitted from an aircraft, the receiving coil is trailed as near to the earth's surface as practical, the tow-line consisting of a single thin cable, and the pick-up voltage being transmitted by radio to the aircraft as L.F. modulation of an R.F. voltage.
