A blue light signal incorporating the letter R is mounted on a vehicle so as to give a warning indication when the vehicle is being reversed. The signal is mounted on the roof or high up on the bodywork of the vehicle so as to be visible both from the front and the rear. It may be operated either from a switch on the dashboard or by movement of the gear lever into the reverse position. An audible warning device may be operated when the light is illuminated.
