Class 64(2) A thermal pendular motor for amusement devices has two aluminium chambers 12, 14 interconnected by a nylon member 18 bearing a tube 20 open to the chambers and extending into the chamber 12 which contains methylene chloride 34. The device is pivoted on shafts 32, 33 on the member 18, being canted slightly at rest, and a moistener fibreglass sleeve 40 provides a temperature difference between the chambers so that a cycle of evaporation and condensation of the volatile liquid chloride causes pendular motion.
