Abstract

758,996. Bed-settees. HENNESSY, J. J. Feb. 25, 1955 [Oct. 7, 1954], No. 28976/54. Classes 52(2) and 52(4). A single non-collapsible bed 1 for caravans &c. has a cover with an upholstered top part 3 and downwardly extending flanges 4 which forms a seat when the bed is not in use. The cover is hinged by its rear edge to the wall 2 of the caravan and may be secured in a vertical position by engaging loops 6 with hooks 7 on the wall. Press-studs 8 secure the cover in position on the bed. In a modification (not shown) the cover at the head end of the bed is foldable back avoiding the necessity of removal when the bed is in use. When applied to a bed not adjacent to a wall supporting members may be provided to retain the cover in raised position.
