758,769. Hypodermic injection appliances. SCHOFIELD, H. P. May 13, 1955 [May 22, 1954], No. 15128/54. Class 81(2). A holder for a syringe ampoule holds the ampoule at one end only and provides a plunger rod for the expulsion of medicament. The type' of ampoule employed 10 carries a needle 15, normally enclosed in a removable sheath 28, and is provided with threads 13, or other attachment means, by which it can be supported in a recess in the holder 11. This is provided with finger grips 17 and a slidable plunger rod 18 which can thrust against the piston stopper of the ampoule. The rod 18 carries a threaded extension which can be screwed into the stopper if required or which can be fitted with a suitable head if the stopper is non-retractable. In order to limit the dosage within accurate limits, the rod 18 may have holes 25 to receive a short rod which acts as a stop, or it may have grooves in which a clip is engaged.
