Class 68(2) [Also in Group XXIX] The tubular slide valve member 7 of a discharge regulator, e.g. for hydraulic plants, has a multiple shutter device 8 upstream for isolating the slide valve from the inlet 1. The radially pivoted, circumferentially spaced and interengaging butterfly valves 8 are actuated by the handle 11, the slotted member 10 and crank 9. The valves 8 may also be actu. ated by a gear ring surrounding the pipe engaging gear segments on the outer spindles of the valves. The valves 8 may be turned one at a time manually, hydraulically or electrically. Radial ribs 2, with which the valves align when open, protect the valves from detritus.
