757,729. Blanching peas &c. BRABY & CO., Ltd., F. Feb. 11, 1955 ITNov. 12, 1953], No. 25252/53. Class 49. Apparatus, Fig. 5, for blanching food, especially for blanching peas, .comprises a long hot water bath 1, a hopper 2 for delivering the food at one end of the bath, and an endless bucket-type conveyer 11 extending horizontally along the bath for receiving and conveying the food in separate small quantities through the bath, and extending upwardly inclined as an elevator for discharging the food at 15 at the other end of the bath. The buckets 7 of the conveyer have hooked overlap with adjacent buckets so as to obviate falling of food between buckets as they are being charged. The buckets are perforated. A fixed plate 17 covers, with small passing clearance, the mouths of the buckets 7 to prevent inadvertent escape of food therefrom.
