754,088. Electric-discharge tube switching circuits. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L.M. ERICSSON. Nov. 25, 1954 [Dec. 4, 1953], No. 34263/54. Class 40 (6). Fig. 3 shows a switching circuit in which the individual pulses of a time-multiplexed pulse train 1, 2, 3 ... n from a source M are switched to outputs T I, T II, &c. in dependence upon the voltages applied to the dynodes of secondary-emission electric discharge-tubes I, II, &c. When the D.C. voltage applied to a given dynode in a tube which has been rendered conductive by a voltage applied between its control-grid and cathode from switch circuit S I, S II, &c. is near the lower point of stability S1 (Fig. 2), the application of a signal to the dynode produces no corresponding output at the collector electrode. When the D.C. voltage is near the upper point of stability S3 (Fig. 2), a signal applied to the dynode produces an output at the collector. Thus by selection of the D.C. supply voltages Vo1 ... Von and the dynode loads Ra1 ... Ran selected pulses from the multiplexed pulse source M will generate an output pulse at the collector output terminals T I, T II, &c. so that any number of input sources may be connected to a given output or any number of outputs connected to a given input.
