Abstract
The invention comprises indazolyl-pyrazole derivatives of the formula <FORM:0753573/IV(a)/1> where X is O or NH and Y is H or sulphonic acid. These are made from amino-indazoles or amino-indazole-sulphonic acids by diazotizing, reducing to the hydrazines, condensing the latter with acetoacetic ester, diketene and ammonia, or diacetonitrile, and ring-closing the product with caustic alkali. The products are intermediates for azo dyestuffs. Examples show the production of 1-(61-indazolyl)-3-methyl - 5 - pyrazolone, 1 - (51 - indazolyl)-3 - methyl - 5 - pyrazolone, 1 - (61 - indazolyl)-3 - methyl - 5 - aminopyrazole and 1 - (41-sulpho-61-indazolyl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone.
