Abstract
751,111. Diazotype materials. GENERAL ANILINE & FILM CORPORATION. Jan. 26, 1954 [Dec. 22, 1953], No. 2373/54. Class 98 (2). A light-sensitive diazotype composition comprises an aqueous dispersion of a diazonium compound, an azo dye coupling component and substantially pure alumina, comprising at least 99 per cent aluminium oxide and having a particle size of up to 5 microns. Alumina suitable for use in the invention has a particle size from 0.02 to 0.04 microns. The diazonium compound may be derived from p-phenylene diamine and its sulphonic acid, p-(N-hydroxyethyl - N - methylamino) - aniline, p - - (N- hydroxyethyl - N - ethylamino) - aniline, pamino - N - ethyl - o - toluidine, p - dimethyl or p - diethylamino aniline or p (N - benzyl - N- ethyl) - aniline. These compounds are used in the form of their zinc chloride salt, cadmium salt, chlorobenzene sulphonate, tin chloride salt or borofluoride salt. The azo coupler may be resorcinol, resorcinol sulphonic acid, 2-naphthol- 3,6 - disodium sulphonate, phloroglucinol or 2,3-disodium sulphonate, phloroglucinol or 2,3- dihydroxynaphthalene - 6 - sulphonic acid. The usual additives may be included such as those specified in Specification 749,034 and the base may be one of those given in that Specification. Specifications 318,511, [Class 98 (ii)], 625,999, 647,617 and U.S.A. Specification 2,709,655 also are referred to.
