Abstract
751,030. Froth flotation machines. KNAPP & BATES, Ltd., and KNAPP, E. A. Feb. 11, 1954, No. 3997/54. Class 82(2). A froth flotation machine comprises a tank 10 with horizontally disposed non-rotatable diffusing pipes 14 to which air under pressure is fed. The air-lift action causes the pulp, introduced at 16, and the froth formed to rise as indicated by the arrows. A part-perforate plate 17 assists separation of the froth which is removed over weir 22 by a paddle wheel 23. The tailings are evacuated into a weir box and over a weir (not shown). The diffusing pipes 14 may be of ceramic particles sintered together. Specification 585,380 is referred to.
