750,302. Split-phase motors. BERESFORD & SON, Ltd., J. Dec. 21, 1953, [Jan. 1, 1953], No. 14/53. Addition to 750,291. Drawings to Specification. Class 35. In a split-phase motor having a starting switch controlled by current from a special winding wound in the stator slots as described in Specification 750,291, the special winding is wound with one or more coils situated in main winding slots and one or more coils situated in auxiliary winding slots. The E.M.F.'s induced in the respective coils are in opposition, so that at starting, the resultant is insufficient to operate the starting relay but becomes sufficient at a predetermined speed.
