Class 138(1) In a method of making a windscreen wiper squeegee in two similar parts, each part is moulded in a split die whereof the split plane extends through the plane of a moulding flash connecting the two parts so that the portion of each part adjacent the flash, which portions ultimately form the longitudinal wiping edges of the squeegee when the parts are placed back to back, will be cleanly formed by the impression in the die. The squeegee parts 1, 1a of rubber or rubber-like material, are moulded integrally in a split die as shown in Fig. 1, and the moulded wiping edges 2 are therefore sharp. After cutting the moulding along flashes at the lines 7, the parts 1, 1a are assembled by folding them about a thin moulding flash 6, in a channelled packing 5, Fig. 2. In a modification, Fig. 3, a strip 8 of more rigid material is inserted between the parts 1, 1a, and is notched as at 9, so that the squeegee may be used on a curved windscreen. If desired the parts 1, 1a may be severed at the flash 6 or they may remain connected only at the flash 7 and be folded thereabout. The abutting surfaces of the parts 1, 1a, may be provided with interengaging projections and recesses in which case the projections would pass through the notches 9 or apertures provided in the strip 8. Moreover the parts 1, 1a may be stuck together. In a further modification the strip 8 may be provided with lateral fingers to fit in recesses formed in one or both of the parts 1, 1a.
