747,828. Measuring instruments. ETABLISSMENTS E. JAEGER. Nov. 25, 1952 [Nov. 29, 1951], No. 29863/52. Class 37. [Also in Group XXXVIII] A moving iron meter for measuring temperature (see, Group XXXVIII) comprises a pointer 35 rigid with a magnetic vane 59 and balancing elements 62, 63, Fig. 10, pivoted at 34 with the vane between interlaced coils 42, 43, Figs. 5, 6, disposed at substantially 120 degrees to one another on a paramagnetic moulded base 30, Fig. 7 (not shown). The coils are adjustable relative to each other and to the base for zeroizing purposes. Variations in the voltage of the battery, Fig. 13, are compensated by shunting one coil 43 across the battery, in parallel with the series connected coil 42, and the temperature responsive thermistor 1B, a further resistor 66 being shunted across the thermistor for controlling the range of the meter. In Fig. 14 (not shown), the currents in both coils vary differentially with the thermistor resistance variations. Specification 605,386 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comproller to Specification 558,299.
