Abstract

An appliance for holding horses during flight in aircraft comprises two or more side frames 12, held at the appropriate spacing by horizontal bars 13, 15, at their lower ends. The frames carry padded tarpaulins 22, which, in the space below cross bars 19, enclose plywood sheets, The tubes forming the lower parts of the appliance are sheathed in rubber tubing and blocks of cork or rubber 28 are fitted on the bottom tubes as a further precaution, to avoid injury if the animal kicks. One bar 16 extends across the back of the frame while a second one 14 extends across the front, the latter bar being fitted together in sections, so that one part may be detached to allow the entry or exit of an animal.
