Class 9(1) A blasting cartridge. 1 has a sheath 2 of salt rings and an axial recess receiving a detonator 3 with attached priming cable 4, the sheathed cartridge being provided with a paper wrapping 7. To secure the detonator in position, over it are placed a slotted disc 5 and a sheet metal ring 8 which has webs 9 extending over the length of the cartridge and having bentover ends 10. The disc 5 may be of ceramic, glass, salt or other suitable material.
