Abstract
745,618. Gangways. THOMASON, T. V. Feb. 18, 1955 [Feb. 18, 1954], No. 4865/54. Class 113. [Also in Group XXX] A loading ramp comprises flat sections 1-6 of length between 4-8 feet arranged so that sections 1 and 6 are at an angle of under 10 degrees to the horizontal and sections 2-5 are at angles to the horizontal of not more than 20 degrees or less than 5 degrees. The ramp is constructed from square-section tubing covered with sheet material and has two separable portions 7, 8. Portion 7 is mounted on a detachable undercarriage 9, and portion 8 is provided with a hinge for connection with portion 7 and a clip 11 for attachment to the surface to be loaded. Fig. 4 (not shown) illustrates the use of a pair of these ramps for loading motor cars into an aircraft.
