Abstract
745,109. Signalling lamps. ALDIS BROS., Ltd. Aug. 6,1954 [Nov. 5, 1953], No. 30589/53. Classes 75(2) and 75(4). In a signalling lamp for military, naval, &c. uses of the kind having a sighting device mounted on the body of the lamp and a light source at the focus of a reflector with means for interrupting the light transmitted such as a shutter or electrical switch, the light source and the reflector are adjustable relatively to the body of the lamp independently of each other for adjustment of the axis of the light beam parallel to the axis of the sighting device. As shown, the reflector housing j has a spherical portion k centered at the focal point of the reflector g and seats on a complementary portion m of the lamp body a and is angularly adjustable in relation thereto by four equidistant screws n, Fig. 4, each passing through the body a and through a slot r in the part k to co-operate with a clamping nut q contained with a washer p, in a sheet metal socket o secured on the inner side of part k. The lamp bulb d, Fig. 2, is mounted on a disc t carried on three parallel equidistant stems u, secured in the central portion of the rear end of the body a and passing through holes in the disc which is secured thereon by sleeves v screwed on to the stems and against the ends of which the disc is pressed by, springs w on the stems, the sleeves being locked in adjusted position by screw plugs x. The lamp bulb d has a collar e with spaced keyhole slots engaged by spring-loaded headed stems y passing through the disc t and secured in a hollow part 2 to secure the collar e to the disc t, electrical contact with the bulb being made by a spring-loaded member 3 within the part 2. The light may be interrupted by a cylindrical shutter h operated by the trigger i through levers 8, 13 or by an electrical switch operated by trigger 6.
