Abstract

Zinc containing arsenic and/or antimony is treated in the molten form with a sodium-lead or sodium-zinc alloy and the resulting arsenic- and/or antimony-containing dross is removed. The sodium alloy may first be formed electrolytically. The Provisional Specification describes also the use of alkali metals or alkaline earth metals or mixtures of these or alloys of any of these metals with lead, which alloys are produced electrolytically.
