[Also in Group V] A skelping die for bending circular section tubes from strip metal or other materials has a cross-section comprising a straight line 14, Fig. 4, joining two semi-circles 16, the width at the entrance end being substantially the same as that of the strip. The radius of the semi-circles remains constant as the section tapers along the length of the die until the exit end comprises two semi-circles. These may be of different radius of curvature so that a step 17 is formed when the edges, of the strip are required to overlap. The die comprises two sections 1, 2, Fig. 1, with opposed grooves 13 of tapering depth' and attached by studs 4, 7 and nuts 5, 8 to a base plate 3 which has slots 10 to permit adjustment of the sections 1, 2.
