[Also in Group XXXI] A cable drum 57 mounted on a tractor (see Group XXXI) is adapted automatically to wind and unwind the cable required for supplying power to a reversible electric motor 20 according as the tractor moves forwards or backwards. The drum is driven by a laterallylocated idler wheel 44, which may be a castor wheel, the drive comprising a sprocket wheel 60, chain 62 and a ratchet and slipping clutch 61a. The drum is geared to overwind, the slipping clutch adjusting tension in the cable.
