742,456. Removing dust generated by grindstones. BRITISH STEEL CASTINGS RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. Dec. 28, 1954 [Dec. 28, 1953], No. 35971/53. Class 8(2). Dust generated by the wheel 6 of a swing grinder is exhausted by suction through an opening 11 between the front of the wheel and a hood 9, through an opening 14 between the rear of the wheel and the bottom 13 of an exhaust duct 12 into which the hood 9 extends and also through an opening 15 behind the opening 14 and in the duct bottom 13 which forms part of a bifurcated guide plate 17 housing flanges 18 (not shown) embracing the wheel. The rear end 21 of the guide plate 17 is inclined upwardly and the wheel is driven by an encased belt from a motor 3 at the other end of a pivoted tubular beam.
