742,444. Paper for photosensitive material. CIPRIANO, J. F., CIPRIANO, A. J., and CIPRIANO, F. L., [trading as ADELPHI RESEARCH & MANUFACTURING CO.]. Nov. 18, 1953 [Nov. 25, 1952], No. 31949/53. Class 96. Paper, which may be uncalendered, for use as a base for photosensitive material, is coated with a suspension of a basic aluminium carbonate gel, and dried. The gel may have 0.6 to 1.6 mol. of CO 2 per mol. of Al 2 O 4 , of which there may be 0.1 to 4 per cent in the suspension which may be at pH=5.5 to 7, and which may incorporate resins or gums &c. and a dispersing agent, e.g. magnesium aluminium silicate. The paper may be sized with glue, and the formaldehyde therefor may be sprayed on together with the aluminium carbonate suspension.
