742,259. Railway rail stake pockets. METSPRAYS, Ltd. March 2, 1954 [Dec. 4, 1952], No. 27746/52. Class 104 (2). A railway rail stake pocket has a profiled side which overhangs one side of the flange of a flat bottom rail when in position on the profile base. The stake pocket comprises two metal plates 2 welded to shuttering 1 or the like and formed with undercuts 2a which engage outside the flange of the rail 4, the plates being joined by a bridge-piece 3 serving as a mounting for a rotatable cam or quadrant 5 or a nut and bolt and washer or distance piece or by a rotatable disc which engages the other flange of the rail 4. The shuttering 1 may be held in position by wedges 6 passed through slots 7 in the plates 2 and engaging a stake 8.
