Abstract

741,961. Mobile jib cranes. GENERAL STEEL CASTINGS CORPORATION. July 23, 1953, No. 20531/53. Class 78 (4). [Also in Group XXXI] A motor-crane chassis-frame is formed of a one-piece casting comprising main longitudinal members 10, 11, and transverse members 14, 17, each of hollow box-like cross-section of substantial width and depth and positioned at substantially the same level. Integral with the longitudinals 10 and 11, is a turntable platform 20 and further transverse members 15, 15 and 16. The transverse members 14 and 17 are of greater depth than the longitudinals 10, 11, and merge into the latter with curved webs 27, 28. Horizontally-slidable outriggers 19 are mounted in the members 14 and 17. The casting is thickened where required, e.g. as shown at 34 and 35. Reinforcing flanges are provided where necessary, e.g. at 36 and 40. Boxsectioned extensions 21 provide bearings for the journals of the equalizing bars of twin rear axles. Brackets 23 support the shackles of leaf-springs 24.
