Abstract

741,820. Brushes; pads. ELVY, J. F. W., and CIMEX-FRASER TUSON, Ltd. Sept. 4, 1953 [Sept. 13, 1952; June 5, 1953], Nos. 23057/52 and 15631/53. Class 19 A floor washing or cleaning device comprises a tubular handle having at one end a transverse support for brush or pad, the hollow handle forming a reservoir for a liquid and having one or more apertures near to the transverse support which may be opened or closed by a spring-loaded plunger operable from the upper end of the handle. As shown operation of a button 21 moves a washer 17 downwards to permit liquid in the interior of the handle to flow through a series of apertures 10. A cylindrical pad of foam rubber is mounted on a transverse support 4 for spreading the liquid. In an alternative arrangement (Fig. 5 not shown) the plunger is replaced by a cranked lever mounted at the top of the handle and the pad is mounted between clips provided at the ends of the transverse support.
