Class 20(2)., A pit-prop comprises a base 4 of H or T- section connected to a head 5 by a forked member 7 which carries a member 10 on which. rests a slotted ridge 12 surrounding the member 7 and which is adapted to be driven in to lift the head 5, which has a slotted connection 9 with the member 7. The member 10 may be of wedge form or flat. The head may be of box form and surround the member 7.
