Abstract

739,871. Road rollers. FLODEN, O. April 7, 1954 [April 8, 1953], No. 10264/54. Class 6 (1). A road or snow roller comprises a plurality of pneumatic tyre covers 10 loosely fitted in a rotatable supporting member 1 and maintained in position by flange means 11 on the member 1. As shown, the member 1 comprises a drum which may be filled with water or sand. Loosely fitting freely rotatable ring members 13 are arranged between some pairs of tyres. The roller is mounted in a frame 8 provided with a draw bar for traction by horses or a,tractor. The drawbar may be arranged for manual traction. The supporting member may be of varying diameter and may be in the form of an open structure.
