738,988. Belt gearing. COLE & CO., Ltd., H. A., and HIRSCHHORN, W. W. Dec. 17, 1953 [Dec. 19, 1952], No. 32206/52. Class 80(1). In a belt composed of a series of overlapping strips 7, 8, 9, &c., a rivet 12 is permanently secured to one end of each strip 7 and is provided with a head 12b of non-circular section. A slot 7a of approximately the same size as the rivet head is provided. at the other end of the strip but differently orientated, and an aperture 7b for the rivet is also provided midway between the slot and rivet. A slit 7c extends between the slot 7a and aperture 7b to facilitate the assembly of the links.
